The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial sprinkler installations. This includes analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs for commercial sprinkler system installations.
Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, this role supports successful project bidding by ensuring estimates are competitive, commercially viable, and technically compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial sprinkler installations
- Quantify materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor requirements
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Produce take-offs using estimating software and drawings
- Assess project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings, and client consultations where required
- Liaise with design, commercial, procurement, and project delivery teams
- Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions, and qualifications
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
- Assist in preparing budgets and cost plans for live projects
- Support handover of successful tenders to operations teams
- Ensure estimates comply with company procedures and industry standards

Required Skills & Essential Experience
- Experience in commercial sprinkler estimating within construction
- Strong understanding of commercial sprinkler systems

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
